Develop an Event-Based Marketing Plan

No matter what your business is, there is bound to be an a day during the year (be it a holiday, celebration or special event) that you can take advantage of as part of your marketing campaign.

Businesses can improve their offerings as well as their messaging and engagement with customers by positioning themselves in relation to relevant events and important dates of the year. For example, businesses with items that appeal to men might be strategic about Father’s Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, National Free Shipping Day, and Christmas. A sports-related business might tie promotions in with high-profile sports events taking place throughout the year, such as the Super Bowl or the Olympics. A business that sells environmentally ethical products might specifically be able to promote themselves through Earth Day messaging.

When embarking upon a new year, start planning out a marketing schedule for the next 12 months with special promotions, coupons, and sales based around specific dates.

We have created a calendar page to help you plan ahead for big events taking place during 2013. You will find dates for major and minor holidays, sporting events, and important retail dates for the year. Let us know if there are any special dates that we left off and we will add it to our calendar!
