Staff Writer, Content Developer

We are looking for an outstanding writer with a strong interest in small business and internet technology. The individual can convey their enthusiasm for our products and services through the written word, be it through blogging, email, social media, or web site copy. The perfect candidate will be someone who shows up to work every day looking to find and implement creative, innovative solutions that contribute to the success of HEROweb and our customers.

Overall Responsibilities

Create and distribute our monthly newsletter, create our weekly short marketing tip email blast, write frequent blog posts, participate in social media outreach, write web site content, and learn how to deliver Search Engine Marketing services. We are looking for someone with excellent writing skills, enthusiastic interest in and ability to learn about small business internet strategy, excellent Internet research skills, ability to use web applications fluently (such as Twitter, Facebook, Wordpress and others) and the ability to become an expert user of these and other internet marketing platforms.

Essential Functions

Write content for blogs, web sites, and social media for HEROweb and its clients.
Optimize client web sites for search engines
Work with marketing team to create and deliver effective campaigns to market HEROweb services.
Monitor, communicate about and act on industry news
Communicate with our customer base (via blog/email/newsletter/social)
Research, stay current and write about online marketing opportunities and topics for small business.
Implement campaign tracking to enable us to track results
Document and continuously improve all work processes

Specific examples of the marketing work we will expect you to complete at a high level

Research keywords for SEO services
Optimize web page content and page titles
Write web site content
Build incoming links
Write blog posts several times a week on topics like:
- HEROweb accomplishments and news
- Cutting edge industry news
- HEROweb customers
- Marketing ideas for our customers
- Services and Resources of value to our customers
Tweet on behalf of HEROweb multiple times per day
Actively participate in online networking through web discussion groups, blogs, Linkedin, etc.
Develop content for our HEROweb and MightyMerchant web sites
Write ad headlines, ad copy and landing page copy for HEROweb and it's clients.

Compensation

Base Pay: Dependent on experience
Full-time benefits package includes:
