Planning Your Online Business

We love talking with small businesses! I was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit Clackamas Community College Small Business Development Center last night (Jan. 8) and meet with Rob and Myrna's Greenhouse class of new business owners. Below is the PowerPoint and related resources from my talk, entitled: Planning Your Online Business.

 The presentation was loads of fun and followed up by some great discussion about the specific sites and situations of the class members. Many of the class members were new to online marketing. Some people were already doing excellent work with their websites. 

Karen from Independence Gardens has developed an extensive resource section and comes up number one for a google search on edible gardens portland. 

 John from Fix-A-Fence LLC has a fence repair and installation business in the Portland area. He has done some great work with video on his website. 

 And, my sister Susan, has just launched her Rain Baby Gear business, selling a range of fun and innovative waterproof baby blankets, dog jackets, and apparel. 

 As a simple experiment, I have optimized the page title for "Online Marketing at Clackamas Community College" and "Web classes at Clackamas Community College". It will interesting to see if the page starts coming up for searches for these terms within a few weeks. SEO does take a little patience!
