Add a Vacation Message to Your Website
It’s about that time of year when you might be planning a summer getaway. Crafting a good on-site vacation message will help keep your mind at ease while you are enjoying a cold drink on the beach. You’ll want to communicate realistic order fulfillment timeframes, but you also don’t want to discourage people from placing orders.
How do you walk this fine line? It’s best to update your product and checkout pages with a concise message that lets shoppers know when they can expect their items. For example, “We are on vacation from July 20-27. Your order will ship the week of July 28 when we return. Thank you for your patience and for shopping at YOUR BUSINESS NAME.”
You don’t necessarily want to put this message in the header of your website because that might scare shoppers away. However, let shoppers know before they complete the ordering process (i.e. don’t save your vacation message for the confirmation email) or you may end up with some unhappy customers.About the Marketing Bite
