Create Content for Each of your Customer Personas
How can you be sure that the content you are creating for your site is actually useful and captivating to your customer base? One of the best ways to create engaging content is to develop one or more customer personas and write directly to these customers. Writing content in this way can add personality and flair to your site while also connecting what you're offering to the needs and desires of each of your key customer segments.
Start by thinking about your site's target audience, beginning with the usual demographic information such as age, gender, income, etc. Next, take it one step further by creating an actual personality from this information. Instead of writing for "Single men ages 25-30" write for "Otis Outdoorsmen." What does the average day look like for Otis? Where does he live? What does he dream about? What is his sense of humor like?
Writing for a specific person helps you to hone in on an engaging conversation directly with customers. Create as many personas as necessary for your audiences and key market segments and start writing directly for them. Watch as fictional customers soon become real ones.
