SiteBeat: May 2013

The HEROweb Marketing and Design Newsletter
HEROweb.com · MightyMerchant.com
May has been a busy month at HEROweb! We've continued to deploy mobile sites, including the roll-out of our own HEROweb and MightyMerchant mobile sites. We would also like to encourage our customers to make use of video; we offer a few tips for getting started.

Mobile Milestones

This month, we are proud to celebrate the launch of our 10th mobile customer site. All of our mobile sites utilize MightyMerchant’s innovative expandable-menu approach. We've even had time in May to get caught up with our own company websites, and are pleased to announce the roll-out of the mobile versions of www.heroweb.com and www.mightymerchant.com.

Want to Stay Relevant? Commit to Video

Featuring video on your website is a key component of a successful marketing plan. Many Internet users prefer to watch videos to learn about products and gather information. If you can produce short, informative videos, you will be meeting a key need of your customers. Not sure where to start? Pick a point below and move your video campaign forward today.

I don’t have a YouTube account.
Although YouTube is not the only place that you can host your web-based videos, it is free and easy. YouTube allows you to easily post videos and, with over a billion unique visitors per month (and growing!), YouTube provides an additional audience for your original content. All you need to do is create a free Google account. If you already have a Google account, just log into YouTube to get started.

I have a YouTube account, but I haven’t created any videos.
No videos? No worries! You can create one yourself -- it’s easier than you think. When creating clips for your business, you shouldn’t be aiming for full-length, Oscar-worthy epics. Most newer smartphones are equipped with video cameras suitable for creating videos that will work for the web. Start with a 30-second clip on the origins of your company or your stated unique value proposition.

I have videos on my YouTube channel, but I haven’t posted them to my website.
Great job! You’re almost there. In order to add your video(s) to your website, you’ll simply need to embed the video by pasting the link (with a little extra code) into the text field of the MightyMerchant site manager. You can even make a few simple adjustments to the code in order to set your own parameters, such as autoplay and links to related videos. Need additional assistance? Send questions to webhelp@heroweb.com, and we’ll be happy to lend a hand.

MightyMerchant Feature of the Month: Download Orders

The Download Orders option in the Site Manager allows users to export website orders to a .csv formatted file so that it can be changed, analyzed, or communicated to others via Excel or similar applications.

Data can be downloaded according to order status, billing status, specific date range, order number, and download status. At the same time, users can change the order status of the downloaded orders to the designation of their choice.

If your business requires specific fields, or special template changes, the Download Orders feature can be customized to meet your unique business needs. Contact us today to learn more!

Email Configuration: Automatically Purge Your Trash Folder

To maximize mailbox storage space, HEROweb can configure your email settings to automatically delete messages in your trash (or any other folder) after a certain number of days. If you would like us to provide this service, free of charge, send a request to HEROweb with the following information:
  • Your name
  • Web domain of email address(es)
  • Mailbox(es) you’d like us to configure
  • How long you would like emails to remain in the trash folder before they are deleted. We recommend seven days.
Contact webhelp today to keep your mailbox below capacity (and to avoid those pesky “over-quota” messages)!
